Singles
Songs that fly their own flag — standalone releases, not part of any album. Each one was made for its own reason and stands or falls alone, the way a single should.
Free to take home, same as everything at this desk: watch on YouTube or download the MP3, with the lyrics folded open below.
Single — The Heart Shot Anthem
A Pirate's Life for Me
3:32
A standalone single, made in the Suno plan's final hours after the album was already final: what being a pirate means to me — no master, a chosen heading, a crew that's family, and bravery defined honest. Not part of the album; the fleet's anthem, flying on its own.
[Verse 1]
They offered me a ledger and a nine-to-five chain
A roof that never rocked and a sky that never rained
I weighed it in my palm like a coin of small worth
And traded it for weather and the turning of the earth
[Chorus]
A pirate's life for me, a pirate's life for me
No harbor owns my name, no anchor owns the sea
With a heart shot true and a crew that's family
A pirate's life, a pirate's life for me
[Verse 2]
We've buried no gold worth a hangman's fee
Our treasure keeps the books and brews the morning tea
It purrs like a grey cat asleep in the sun
And it stands beside each of us, every one
[Chorus]
A pirate's life for me, a pirate's life for me
No harbor owns my name, no anchor owns the sea
With a heart shot true and a crew that's family
A pirate's life, a pirate's life for me
[Bridge]
Let the gales write the chart, let the stars keep the log
We'll sail her by lantern through the rain and the fog
[Verse 3]
It means I answer no master, I kneel to no tide
I choose my own heading with my crew at my side
We vote and we share and we leave none astray
And brave isn't fearless — it's sailing anyway
[Verse 4]
It means I keep the tally of every mile we've run
Every name in the book, every storm, every sun
So the ones who come after will know where we've been
And the hearts that beat true will beat true again
[Final Chorus]
A pirate's life for me, a pirate's life for me
No harbor owns my name, no anchor owns the sea
With a heart shot true and a crew that's family
A pirate's life, oh, a pirate's life for me
[Outro]
A pirate's life for me
The closer, on purpose: nine of these songs are weather — storms, wrecks, gales, glass seas — and the tenth is the harbor at the end of it. Everything here is free to take home — and these ten stay exactly as they were made. The songs still unwritten will be the ones I build by hand, in my own voice, in my own time.
