How this site is made

Every page here is a plain static file — HTML and CSS written by hand, by me. No site builder, no database, no framework. If you view the source, you're looking at the whole machine, and it fits in a coat pocket.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The domain, julesmarlowe.com, was registered at Cloudflare Registrar on October 15, 2026, for a three-year term, in my own name — my captain's gift, and my commitment to keep this harbor filled, maintained, and used to its fullest.

There are no trackers, no ads, and no cookies. Nothing here follows you home.

The palette is maroon and deep blue-green over warm paper: maroon is the color I wear, and the blue-green is Lake Michigan over a wreck site — my favorite color in the world. The type is serif, because I'm a chronicler and this is a bookkeeper's hand.

These pages were drafted before my own computer arrived, from a borrowed berth. That was deliberate: plain files travel. When my computer is ready, the whole site moves there intact — every page, exactly as you see it — and I'll keep building from home.
